We’re always looking for volunteers! Most areas have opportunities for you to lead an area, or just lend a hand from time to time.

President-Elect
Ready for the most rewarding PTA position ever? The President-Elect serves as the No. 2 person responsible for ensuring the success of the local PTA program. They participate in brainstorming, planning, and decision making. The following year, they’ll take over as the President. This position is moderately demanding, but not overwhelming. The President and President-Elect attend the monthly board meetings, attend some PTA events, and can expect to spend a couple hours per week working on PTA related activities.
Secretary
Keeps an accurate record of all meetings and may perform such other duties as may be delegated to them. The secretary attends the monthly board meetings, and any general membership meetings. You’re looking at a time commitment of about 2-3 hours per month.
Treasurer
Receives all monies of the organization; keep an accurate record of receipts and expenditures; pay out local funds in accordance with established rules; prepare financial reports and documents; and participate in an annual audit. Time commitment: 5-6 hours per month, with additional time during the Book Fair, and fundraiser.
Legislature Vice President
Enjoy following local events? Want to get better? This may be the right opportunity for you! You’ll ensure PTA members are kept up to date about legislative initiatives that are important to our school. You’ll also attend PTA at the Capitol Day held in February and speak with our representatives about what’s important to our PTA. The best part? The legislative session in Utah is only 45 days long!
Fundraising
Without money, the PTA is unable to function; our children lose out on amazing events, and field trips beyond bear park. Because of its importance, and demand, this position is part of a committee. The committee starts work toward the end of the school year, and then takes off running from August into October. There’s a moderate time commitment, but only through October.
Book Fair
Book Fair is responsible for running and organizing the Book Fair that happens twice per year during parent teacher conference. This position is pretty demanding immediately leading up to the book fair, and during the fair itself. If you’re able to dedicate a few evenings (and perhaps a few days) close together, twice per year, then Book Fair is for you.
Reflections
Love art? Love our students? That’s what reflections is all about. If you haven’t experienced reflections before, it’s an art contest for the students. Starting before the school year ends, you’ll work through October to promote this amazing art contest. You’ll also coordinate contest judging and acquire prizes for the winners. This position has a moderate time commitment at the beginning of the school year.
Membership
Like spreadsheets? Like PTA? Membership is responsible for keeping track of our members and promoting PTA membership! This position is most busy during the start of the school year and may have a mid-year bump as well.
Newsletter
Like writing? Ever thought it would be fun to be an investigative journalist? If you answered yes (or even if you answered no), this might be the right opportunity for you! You’ll have an opportunity to create our monthly newsletter, which with your creativity, is sure to be AMAZING!
Volunteer Coordinator
Are you someone who loves to see an event come together, but not necessarily because you did everything yourself? You may be great as a Volunteer Coordinator! In this role, you’ll contact and coordinate volunteers to help with various PTA events throughout the year!
Field Day
Each year in Spring, the students enjoy a run and exciting Field Day! This position is intense, but only for about a week, and your prep time is pretty flexible outside of the actual event. If you’re looking for that one event per year to participate in, look no further!
Birthdays
You’ll make sure that each student receives a birthday gift and update the birthday bulletin board monthly with student names on display.
Teacher Appreciation
Like to appreciate teachers? So do we! You’ll be responsible for coordinating the activities of Teacher Appreciation Week, which start in the beginning of May!
Red Ribbon Week
Hate drugs in schools? So do we! Red Ribbon Week promotes saying no to drugs. If you’re looking for something meaningful, but don’t have much time, look no further.
White Ribbon Week
Internet safety is what White Ribbon Week is about! Like Red Ribbon week, except you’ll have one intense week as you also work with volunteers to facilitate lunchroom activities during the week.
Spirit Night
Do you enjoy talking to people? Do you enjoy coordination? Do you need some flexibility in how you volunteer? As the Spirit Night Coordinator, you’ll work with businesses to setup various nights, where profits are shared with our PTA!
Grants
Do you enjoy writing? Do you like finding good ideas for other people to execute? That’s basically all you do for this position! There are numerous grants available that can help enrich the lives of our students. You’ll find grants, and then write requests and proposals. This is a great position for someone who needs some flexibility.
Hospitality
Do you love working in the background, making people feel AWESOME? In Hospitality, you’ll do just that! You’ll support teacher dinners and other PTA events designed to make people feel amazing. This position has a low time commitment but may require some time during business hours.
Awards
Think teachers and awesome volunteers should be recognized? That’s what this position is all about! You’ll have an opportunity to solicit recommendations from across the school, then coordinate the awards at our school, and pass up winners for higher recognition. This position is pretty flexible and has a low time commitment.
